SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall University student-athletes have well demonstrated their prowess on the playing field/court and in the classroom. It was recently announced that the Pirates posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.015 for the fall 2010 semester.
"This is evidence of the commitment that our student-athletes continue to show in the classroom," Director of Academic Support Services Matt Geibel said. "We are obviously very proud of their achievements. The student-athletes, faculty, coaching staffs, and administration have done a tremendous job of working together in order to show what it truly means to be a student-athlete at Seton Hall University."
The women's soccer program posted the best GPA of any sport at 3.512. The men's golf team accomplished a 3.301, marking the highest grades of any male program. Overall, 10 of the 14 programs at the University attained over a 3.0 in the fall.
In addition, senior men's soccer player Andrew Welker (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II Second Team in November.
