The Seton Hall Athletics Department continued its "Reading with the Pirates" program Tuesday at the South Orange Middle School in South Orange, New Jersey. Five Seton Hall student-athletes including volleyball players Kacey Richards and Simona Sekulova, tennis players Alex Landert and Julia Keenan, and swimmer Megan Mostoller participated in the program.
The athletes read with middle school students and answered questions about their experiences as college students and Division I athletes. The purpose of the visit was to emphasis the importance of reading and working together to achieve success.
At the end of the reading program, Seton Hall bags loaded with goodies were provided to the students participating in the "Reading with the Pirates" program, including Seton Hall bookmarks.
The Pirates hope to engage as many students at as many local elementary schools as possible through the "Reading with the Pirates" program. If you'd like Seton Hall student-athletes to come read at your school, please contact email@example.com.
