SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – As Seton Hall prepares to add a new chapter to its storied Athletics history, indications of progress continue to define the landscape surrounding the program’s facilities on the University’s South Orange campus.
In conjunction with the recent introduction of a revamped BIG EAST Conference, Seton Hall continues to undertake projects aimed at enhancing the student-athlete experience while positioning the Pirates’ 14 varsity athletic programs to compete on the national stage. In the above video, first seen on the Seton Hall Basketball Show, Director of Athletics Patrick Lyons provides a comprehensive tour of the work underway and details the vision that is the impetus behind the planned upgrades.
In addition to the extensive augmentation of the Varsity Training Room and the transformation of the general fitness facilities, Lyons also specifically touches on the development of the Charles W. Doehler Academic Center for Excellence, a part of the Pride & Excellence Capital Campaign.
The focus of the campaign will be to generate funds for essential student-athlete facility projects and renovations. Along with the fitness center, student-athlete academic center, and training room; locker rooms for each sport, a dedicated space for the Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Fame, a new team video room and enhancements to Historic Walsh Gymnasium are key components of the overarching development plan.
“Our Pride & Excellence Campaign will enable Seton Hall to build on its tremendous athletic history and support our many remarkable student-athletes," said Lyons when the campaign was introduced. “We are calling on Pirates everywhere to join together and support the amazing men and women who proudly represent this school in competition."
