Seton Hall Student-Athletes Hold Thank-A-Thon

The Pirate Blue Athletic Fund held its first Student-Athlete Thank-A-Thon on Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3 in the Seton Hall Sports Polling Center.  All 14 Seton Hall athletic programs were represented as 36 student-athletes volunteered their time to call Pirate Blue donors nationwide to thank them for their financial support of Seton Hall Athletics.

"The Thank-A-Thon is an important component of our development efforts and it's great to see our student-athletes embrace this new initiative," said Bryan Felt, Senior Director of the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund.  "It offers a unique opportunity for our student-athletes to reach out and thank those donors who contribute each year to Pirate Blue, while also educating them on the importance of private support and the impact it has on their experience at Seton Hall."

Throughout both evenings, each student-athlete delivered a simple but sincere message: "Thank You."  The student-athletes said thanks for the financial support to Seton Hall Athletics and Pirate Blue.

"It was great to have the chance to speak with our loyal supporters and say 'thanks' to the people who allow us to go to school and compete at Seton Hall," said Jennifer Pettigrew, a sophomore on the women's soccer team.

The student-athletes were able to call approximately 1,000 donors over the two-night span to thank them for all their annual contributions and support.

Pirate Blue donors should know that regardless of their gift amount and/or if they received a call this evening, their contributions make a difference in the student-athletes lives.  The next time the phone rings, it might very well be a Seton Hall student-athlete calling to say thank you.
