Hayes Punches Ticket to NCAA Outdoor Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C - The Seton Hall track & field teams resumed competition at the NCAA East Regionals on Friday. Senior Jernail Hayes (Newark, Del.) ran the eighth fastest time (56.95) in the semi's of the 400-meter hurdles to earn a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon next weekend.


Hayes also moved into the semifinals of the 200-meter dash, running a 23.70 in her heat, giving her the 15th fastest qualifying time. Senior Krista Simkins (Wissahicken, Pa.) also ran in the 200-meter dash, but her time of 24.28.


Junior Christopher Cox (Manahawkin, N.J.) posted a 46.75 in the semifinals of the 400-meter dash, but missed out on advancing to the NCAA's.


The men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams will be in action on Saturday to vie for an NCAA Championship berth.
