Hayes Sets 400-Meter Hurdle School-Record at US Outdoor Track & Field Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - Senior Jernail Hayes (Newark, Del.) closed her collegiate career with a bang at the U.S. Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend. Hayes broke the school-record in the 400-meter hurdles in the semifinals of the event, and went on to place seventh in the finals.


After a 57.89 effort advanced her to the semifinals on Friday, Hayes recorded her record-breaking time of 56.53 to top the mark she set at the NCAA East Regionals last month by .42 seconds. In the finals, she posted a time of 57.56 to seal her seventh place finish.
