Announced earlier this month, the BIG EAST Digital Network is a partnership between the Conference and FOX Sports to create a conference-specific, year-round HD digital channel via FOX Sports' mobile application, FOX Sports GO. BEDN is, offering free live streaming of 80-100 sporting events annually, in addition to the authenticated live streaming of BIG EAST events on FOX Sports networks. Women's basketball games are also a focal point of BEDN, with over 30 games slated for broadcast. The women's basketball schedule for BEDN will be announced Thursday.
The BIG EAST will oversee all production on the Digital Network. Rush Media Company will serve as the conference's third-party production services supplier.
Following women's soccer's debut on Sept. 25, volleyball will make its first appearance on the Network when BIG EAST preseason favorite Creighton hosts Butler Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. The first men's soccer presentation will take place Sept. 27 when Providence visits Marquette in a rematch of last year's BIG EAST men's soccer championship. First touch is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern.
Additionally, BEDN will have coverage of BIG EAST Championship events beginning with Men's and Women's Cross Country from Northview Church in Indianapolis on Friday, Oct. 31. BEDN will have complete coverage of the BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship by airing both the semifinals and championship game, as well as first round and semifinal presentations of the BIG EAST Men's and Women's Soccer Championships and semifinal matches of the BIG EAST Volleyball Championship.
Coverage of Olympic sports live events will continue in the winter with the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships from the famed New York City Armory Feb. 28-March 1, and transition to spring with regular season and championship events in men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball.
The BIG EAST Digital Network will have its own branded channel within FOX Sports GO, the mobile app that provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content at home or on-the-go. The BIG EAST is the first collegiate conference to be hosted on the network's mobile platform.
FOX Sports GO is currently available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire tablets and Fire phones, select Windows devices, and on desktops through FOXSportsGO.com. Fans can download the mobile app for free from the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Store.
FOX Sports GO users who are also subscribers of participating video providers can live stream the BIG EAST men's and women's basketball telecasts, plus the Olympic sports championships, carried on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports Regional Networks, and FOX broadcast network. The BIG EAST women's basketball events and the Olympic sports contests that are not televised by FOX Sports do not require a video subscription.
