Members of Seton Hall Athletics take part in No-Shave November to raise funds for American Cancer Society
Christopher Carl has served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing & Promotions at Seton Hall since June 2015. The appointment came after previously serving as Seton Hall's Assistant Director of Facilities & Operations for two years.
In his role, the 2012 Seton Hall graduate handles an extensive set of responsibilities that oversees all revenue-generating areas and marketing initiatives for all 14 varsity programs. Having already been a long-time member of the Pirates staff, Carl brings a new competitive edge that will propel the already prominent Seton Hall programs into fresh and innovative marketing platforms while still maintaining the program's rich history and traditions.
Furthermore, Carl is in charge with directing the game day operations and promotional activities at home athletics events. He also acts as a liaison to corporate partnerships and assists in the development and activation of those partnerships. Additionally, Carl is responsible for creating and overseeing all campaigns that aim to increase fan support within the Seton Hall community.
While studying at Seton Hall as an undergraduate, Carl spent two years as a Sports Marketing Assistant, helping implement marketing plans, such as the student Pirate Pride system, in addition to working with in-game social media initiatives. Then as a graduate assistant for the Seton Hall Intramural & Recreations Department, he oversaw all aspects of running and supervising intramural sports. He also gained excellent experience creating marketing material that increased student involvement in recreations.
Carl's extensive background also includes experience at the professional level. He completed a marketing internship with the New York Titans and a marketing and promotions internship with ESPN Radio 1050 New York. He also worked four seasons as an Assistant Clubhouse Manager for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Before his move back into marketing, Carl managed all of Seton Hall's facilities, overseeing building management and field operations. He was liaison to the University's Facilities & Engineering Department, Grounds Crew and Public Safety divisions. He also oversaw event operations, coordinated travel and practice times with visiting teams, assisted in the planning of various construction projects and maintained the department's budget. As part of his event operations duties, he was responsible for the planning and coordination of all outside events, including athletic contests, concerts, camps and a variety of community, corporate and private functions.
Carl graduated from Seton Hall with cum laude honors in May 2012, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in marketing and sport management. Carl is also in progress to receive his Master's in Business Administration and a Certification in Entrepreneurship from Seton Hall in December 2015.
