Samuel Geiler Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Geiler led the Pirates offensively with three goals in the first two games.

2015: Started all 16 contests on the wing…led the Pirates with nine points via three goals and three assists…logged 1,296 minutes, fifth on the squad…fired a team-high 39 shots including 18 on goal…tallied in back-to-back games against Rider (Sept. 4) and Delaware (Sept. 9)…notched an assist vs. No. 1 Creighton (Sept. 26)…scored a goal and fired five shots at Princeton (Oct. 6)…posted a pair of assists and a season-high six shots vs. Villanova (Nov. 5).

2014: Appeared in 16 matches with 15 starts... Led Seton Hall with five assists... Tied for fourth on the team with seven points... Preseason All-BIG EAST... Finished the season ranked eighth in the BIG EAST with five assists... Provided the first assist on the game-winner in a 1-0 win at St. John's in the season finale (11/6)... Led the team with six shot attempts, two on goal, in a 3-3 tie against No. 24 Marquette (11/1)... Came off the bench for the first time in his career, leading the team with five shots, two on goal, in a scoreless draw at Butler (10/29)... Finished with three shot attempts in a 1-1 tie at Villanova, sending a shot off the post in the first overtime period (10/15)... Scored his first goal of the season, a game-winner on a penalty kick in the 87th minute, in a 1-0 win at Columbia (10/8)... Logged 84 minutes, with one shot on goal at No. 11 Creighton (10/4)... 2013: Named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team... Started all 18 matches at outside mid and led the Pirates in goals scored (8) and total points (20), while tying for second with four assists... Ranked second on the team in BIG EAST only scoring with two goals and two assists for six points... Named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 2... Named the BigAppleSoccer.com Men's College Player of the Week on Sept. 3... Scored a goal in his collegiate debut, also attempting a team-high five shots and three shots on net in a 3-0 victory over Rhode Island (8/30)... Scored a pair of goals, one in each half, and sent four of his six shot attempts on net in a 3-3 tie against Drexel (9.1)... Buried his first-career game-winning goal with three seconds to play in double overtime in a 5-4 victory over Delaware (9/10)... Sent one of his two shots on net in 76 minutes of action at Princeton (9/15)... Registered the first assist of his career and also tied his season-high with six shot attempts in SHU's 2-1 double overtime win at Rider (10/2)... Provided an assist on both of Seton Hall's goals for his first-career game with multiple assists, and recorded three shot attempts in a 2-1 win over Villanova (10/9)... Played a part in all three SHU goals in a shutout win over NJIT, assisting the game winner and scoring twice in the second half to compile a career-best five points on the night (10/16)... Scored two goals, including the game-winner, and converted the first penalty kick of his career to lead the Pirates to a 3-2 win over No. 22 Creighton (10/26).

High School/Personal: Played for the Offenbuger FV U16 team from 2009-10, the FC Kaiserslautern U17 squad in 2011 and Kaiserslautern U19 from 2011-13... Helped Kaiserslautern obtain the Südwest-Verbandspokal championship for three-straight years (2011-13)...
