Alex Pozesky was named All-Freshman after logging over 1,300 minutes as a rookie
Nov. 6, 2015

NEW YORK – Seton Hall men’s soccer freshman Alex Pozesky (Columbia, Pa.) has been named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team, the league announced on Friday (Nov. 6). Pozesky becomes the third active Pirate to garner All-Freshman honors, joining Samuel Geiler (Offenburg, Germany) and John Philbin (Emmaus, Pa.).

Pozesky’s laurel comes after the holding midfielder started all 16 contests for The Hall in 2015, one of three Pirates to do so. He logged 1,374 minutes during his freshman campaign, second on the squad. Pozesky also fired nine shots and picked up an assist during his rookie season. His helper came on a Geiler goal against Princeton on Oct. 6.

The Hall has placed a member on the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team each year since the award resumed in 2013 and has seen seven players honored in the seven years the distinction has existed (1996-2000, 2013-present). Pozesky is the fourth Pirate to receive a conference accolade under Gerson Echeverry, joining the two other All-Freshman recipients and 2013 All-Conference Team member Max Garcia.
