MASON, OHIO – Freshman Kiley Britten (Crystal Lake, Ill.) shone in her first trip to the conference stage on Saturday, recording a team-leading 6K time of 22:21.5 at the 2015 BIG EAST Championships in Mason, Ohio.
Britten is the second consecutive freshman to finish as top finisher at the conference championship for Seton Hall program that continues to develop; joining sophomore Christiana Rutkowski (Middletown, N.J.) who did so last fall.
Like Rutkowski a season ago, Britten has scored for SHU in every meet of her debut campaign and has now led the squad in two-straight outings.
Senior Amanda Quaglia (Reading, Pa.) was the second Pirate to cross the line with a time of 22:55.0 in her final trip to the conference meet. Quaglia and Britten have routinely occupied the top-two slots on the team results list with their efforts often being followed by those of junior Desyre Blackburn (Aloha, Ore.) and Saturday was no different.
Blackburn reached the finish in 23:04 to score for the Pirates for the third consecutive conference championship.
Sophomore Emily Johnson (Wildwood Crest, N.J.) continued her strong push through her second collegiate season by placing fourth on the team in her first opportunity to compete at the BIG EAST event.

Johnson’s 25:04.1 mark was directly followed by Bailey Seach (Winston Salem, N.C.) who rounded out the scoring group with a final time of 25:20.4. Senior Bri Miller (Bayonne, N.J.) was close behind, crossing the line just over five seconds later.

The Pirates finished 10th with 316 points while Providence took the team crown with 26 behind individual champion Sarah Collins

The Hall will be off from competition next week before returning to action at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in Princeton, N.J. on Friday, November 13.
